Everyone who works in drawing needs to be familiar with the essential aspects of perspective, either in order to apply them directly to their work or to move from them to more subjective approaches. In addition, drawing in perspective offers considerable graphic possibilities. The precision involved in a representation in perspective possesses qualities peculiar to it that in themselves constitute an unquestionable artistic value.
After an initial chapter devoted to basic concepts and the process of perspective, practical solutions are offered for the most common problems the artist encounters in perspective drawing, the three vanishing points, for example, ladders, arches, pavement, etc.
The third chapter shows how to work with perspective in different drawing media. The techniques and procedures best suited for perspective drawing are reviewed, including wash and watercolors.
Finally, 10 step-by-step exercises are presented, illustrating the difficulties the artist normally encounters and interesting graphic solutions in tune with the esthetic tastes of our time. The work is supplemented with a glossary at the end.
