This book is about the basic techniques used when working with leather, especially with vegetable tanning, described in a very didactic way suited to those interested in the practical aspects of this art. This book deals only with animal skin coming from domesticated animals and which are a source of food, leaving out non-domesticated animal skin and skin from animals bred in captivity just because of their skin. This volume includes historical facts, provides information on the different kinds of skin and the materials, tools and techniques to work with them. Also, the process of eight different projects is shown step-by-step.
